The SmartLess Media team have found their next podcast bet: A soccer show called GoalLess, which will feature a lighthearted format that highlights the passion, personalities, and pitch drama that make soccer beautiful.
Comedian Russell Howard and soccer broadcaster Chris Wittyngham will co-host the podcast, which launches on Thursday, Sept. 19. SmartLess Media, Meadowlark Media and SiriusXM are producing GoalLess, which also counts Paramount+ as its launch sponsor.
GoalLess will release two new episodes each week, on Mondays and Thursdays, in the SiriusXM app and on other podcast platforms. I cant wait to get stuck into the Champions League with Chris onGoalLess. Talking about football and having a laugh. Its my dream job! Howard said in a statement.
I am very excited to be rejoining the Meadowlark family, along with theSmartLessteam, to bring GoalLess to the masses with Russell each week, added Wittyngham. As both a massive fan and broadcaster of The Champions League, co-hosting a show like this will be a fun way to bring in new soccer fans, and connect with intriguing guests from across the world.
Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Richard Korson serve as the EPs for SmartLess Media, with Bimal Kapadia and Julia McInnis serving as EPs for Meadowlark.
While Bateman, Arnett and Hayes SmartLess podcast kickstarted the business, their SmartLess Media has expanded in recent months with a number of podcast projects, including Bad Dates,Just Jack Will,WikiHole,Pretty Sure I Can Fly, andOwned.
Earlier this year, SmartLess inked a $100 million deal with SiriusXM that includes some exclusivity rights, ad sales, and library content.
