Dec 27, 2025 8:58 AM

Creative Artists Agency has appointed Sarah Schweitzman as co-head of CAA Media Finance, joining Roeg Sutherland.

Schweitzman and Sutherland will jointly oversee the division, which handles packaging, financing, production and sales for independent film, television and digital projects at the agency. Schweitzman replaces CAA Media Finance co-head Benjamin Kramer, who jumped ship this summer to join Teddy Schwarzmans indie studio Black Bear, heading up its new U.S. distribution operation.

Sarah and I have worked together in various capacities over the years. She is brilliant and has impeccable taste, said Sutherland in a statement. I have always admired her creativity and fierce advocacy for artists. When she joined us nearly a decade ago, she fit right in and immediately became an essential member of our CAA team. I could not be prouder or more excited to see her step into this new role. Schweitzman has been with CAA as an agent since 2017 and has been involved in the sale and financing of such films as Bugonia, Conclave, Hit Man, Coda, Challengers, The Holdovers, The Last Showgirl and May December. She also represents filmmakers and production companies, advising on packaging, financing and distribution strategies. Among her clients are directors Nadine Labaki (Capernaum), Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), Rebecca Zlotowski (A Private Life) and Ladj Ly (Les Misrables), as well as Better Things creator Pamela Adlon and Dakota Johnsons production company TeaTime Pictures, among others.

Schweitzman began her career at CAA as an assistant before joining Alex Kurtzmans production company Secret Hideout. She later returned to the agency as an agent in 2017. Prior to her time at CAA, she held executive roles at 21st Century Fox and Vendme Pictures, where she contributed to films such as Source Code, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Spy and The Greatest Showman.

CAA Media Finance represents and arranges financing for more than 125 films annually. Recent titles include the 2025 Academy Award winners The Brutalist, Im Still Here and Emilia Prez, as well as Nouvelle Vague, Die My Love, Tow, The Apprentice, Longlegs, Queer and Eleanor the Great. The department is also active in structuring production companies and establishing domestic and international distribution ventures.
