Paw Patrol studio Spin Master Corp. has named Christina Miller as its new CEO from July 7, replacing Max Rangel as he prepares to step down.
Miller, who joined the entertainment companys boardroom as an independent director in May 2020, served as president of then WarnerMedias Kids, Young Adults and Classic division, where she oversaw content development for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang and TCM.
She replaces Rangel, who joined Spin Master in 2021 and is set to leave the company as the entertainment player faces headwinds from U.S. President Donald Trumps tariffs imposed on toy products from China, in addition to Canadian goods entering the U.S. market. Uncertainty around global supply chains from Trumps trade policies has created uncertainty for North American consumers and toy makers. Its been a privilege to lead this exceptional company and work alongside such passionate and innovative teams around the world. Im proud of what weve achieved together, and I look forward to supporting Christina as she and the executive team guide Spin Master forward, Rangel said in a statement.
Spin Master Entertainment, the entertainment division of the Toronto-based company behind the Paw Patrol toy line that inspired the Nickelodeon series, has partnered with Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures on launched a feature animation franchise. A third film in the franchise is slated to arrive in theaters in 2026.
Miller pointed to more toy-to-screen adaptations anticipated. Having been on the board of this company for the past five years Ive had a front row seat to witness the incredible power of Spin Masters three creative centres. This is a moment of opportunity to harness the strength of our iconic brands like Paw Patrol, Rubiks Cube and Melissa Doug, along with our expansive Toca Boca and Piknik digital platforms, with over 70 million active users, and award-winning entertainment studio, to unlock our full potential and lead this next chapter, she said.
