Orange-Ginger Charoset Recipe
Orange-Ginger Charoset Recipe-March 2024
Mar 31, 2026 3:49 PM

Although major brands of crystallized ginger list only sugar and ginger in the ingredients, crystallized ginger cannot be purchased with kosher-for-Passover certification. If you choose to omit this ingredient, increase the fresh ginger by one teaspoon and add 2 extra teaspoons of honey. This recipe is best served within a few hours of preparation.

Ingredients

Makes about 2 cups

2 tablespoons finely grated orange zest

1 cup fresh orange segments, membranes removed, cut into 1/2-inch chunks (from about 2 large oranges)

  2 tablespoons orange juice

1 1/2 teaspoons peeled, minced fresh ginger

  2 teaspoons diced crystallized ginger

3/4 cup slivered blanched almonds, toasted

  1 tablespoon orange blossom honey

  3 tablespoons amaretto liqueur

In large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well and serve immediately.

  Note:

Bartenura kosher-for-Passover amaretto liqueur is available at www.queenannewine.com.
