Jonathan Anderson has a new home in Hollywood.
The Loewe fashion designer, who has steadily been making a mark on the big-screen as a costume designer with back-to-back collaborations with filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, has signed with UTA for representation.
News of Anderson linking up with the agency comes hours after he took home the biggest award of the night with designer of the year honors at the British Fashion Councils Fashion Awards in London. Anderson bested Chlos Chemena Kamali, Maison Margielas John Galliano, Miu Mius Miuccia Prada, Alaas Pieter Mulier and Rick Owens for his namesake label. I love fashion, Anderson said in accepting the prize. It makes me get out of bed every morning. Not that he has any habits of pressing snooze. Anderson maintains a heavy work load as the creative director of Loewe while steering the ship at his eponymous fashion label, JW Anderson, which he founded in 2008 as something of a wunderkind of the fashion industry at age 24. The Northern Ireland native built it up in a such a way that LVMH came calling in 2013, eventually acquiring a minority stake. The fashion powerhouse then appointed Anderson as creative director of the Spanish brand Loewe. In more than a decade, hes built Loewe into one of the fashion worlds buzziest brands thanks to designs that range from witty and surreal to expertly tailored and award-winning, a roster of high-profile ambassadors and inventive campaigns.

He served as honorary chair of this years Met Gala, which Loewe sponsored. Those credits with Guadagnino include Queer, now in theaters and starring Daniel Craig (also a Loewe ambassador), and Challengers starring Zendaya, Josh OConnnor and Mike Faist.
When talent agencies confirm new clients, agents rarely make statements but UTA sent out some words from partner and board member Blair Kohan in what can be seen as a signal of Andersons stature. In that statement, Kohan teased that Anderson could soon be moving beyond costumes to other forms of storytelling.
We are excited and honored to welcome Jonathan to UTA. He is a gifted designer whose visionary work has shaped fashion and culture for over a decade, Kohan said. We look forward to supporting him as he expands his creative influence in all forms of storytelling, building on his already extraordinary success.
