Jonathan Glickman will join Miramax as its CEO, the film and TV studio officially said Tuesday. The executive will assume the role effective immediately.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported Glickman was in talks for the new role in January. Glickman replaces former CEO Bill Block, who departed last year after a six-year run.
As part of the new job, Miramax has also acquired certain film, television and other projects of Panoramic Media, the independent film and TV production company founded by Glickman in 2017. While at Panoramic, Glickman produced Amazon/MGMsCreed 3 andThe Underdoggs, and executive produced Netflixs Wednesday. He is also currently exec producing the Netflix limited series Zero Day,starringRobert De NiroandAngela Bassett. With its world-renowned library and the united desire from its shareholders to produce IP-based as well as original projects, Miramax is uniquely placed to be the leading independent film and television studio for the years to come, Glickman said in a statement. Prior to Panoramic, Glickman served as motion group president at MGM for nine years, where under his tenure, James Bond became a billion-dollar franchise. He also revived the studios Rocky franchise with Creed and Creed 2.

Harvey and Bob Weinstein founded Miramax in 1979. It was owned by Disney until 2010, when it moved to Qatar-based sports and entertainment company BeIn, which has a 51 percent stake, and Paramount, which owns the other 49 percent.
