Innovative Artists Entertainment is getting into the sports representation business by hiring veteran sports and entertainment attorney Brad Small.
He joins Innovative from Fox Rothschild LLP, where he served as a partner in the firms entertainment and sports law department in Los Angeles. Having represented actors and athletes and others in contract talks for WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown, among other projects, Small brings pro wrestling clients like Chris Jericho, Drew McIntrye, Jack Perry, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Goldberg, Kanako Urai, also known as Asuka, and Dallas Page to the agency. Brads two decades of experience negotiating and navigating strategic and landscape-shifting deals for his clients, have set the model for the intersection of sports and entertainment, which uniquely poises him for success in our modern dealmaking landscape, Scott Harris, CEO and founder of Innovative Artists, said in a statement.
Small welcomed joining the talent agency as the sports industry and professional wrestling enjoy increased demand and popularity in the entertainment space. He has handled new deals for talent on projects like Marco Polo, Mob Wives, Project Runway and Scream. Other clients include Oscar winning screenwriter Nick Pileggi and Joe Exotic (Tiger King).
Before joining Fox, Small was a partner at Rosenfeld, Meyer Susman LLP.His hire follows Innovative Artists announcing a partnership with private equity firm Coral Tree Partners after that firm acquired a minority stake in the agency.
