Fox has taken an equity stake investment in Chain, B.J. Novaks (The Office) food pop-up business.
The deal makes a bit more sense with the added context that the partnership will specifically be through Fox Entertainments Studio Ramsay Global, chef Gordon Ramsays content studio (in its own partnership with Fox). Studio Ramsay Global is the home to Next Level Chef and new series Gordon Ramsays Secret Service.
Chain started as a West Hollywood parking-lot pop-up in which a Michelin-starred chef crafted homages to nostalgic chain restaurant classics. With collabs with Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Jack in the Box, Pepsi, Dunkin and Panda Express on the menu, Chain pop-ups became one of the hottest tickets in town. More recently, Chain chefs worked with McDonalds and Pop-Tarts. There have also been film and broader studio collaborations with Paramount Studios forScream VIandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and with Disney. Under the terms of todays deal, Chains Chain Media gets a first-look development deal at Fox. There is the potential for original content placement on Ramsays food-content platform Bite and in vertical videos on Holywater. Earlier this month, Fox took an equity stake in the AI-microdramas producer and platform.

As Fox continues to expand its dominance across the food space, investing in Chain furthers our digital storytelling and content creation strategy with this deep partnership in a winning business model, where viral events advance creative possibilities, Rob Wade, the CEO of Fox Entertainment, added. Studio Ramsay Globals far-reaching, growing culinary empire and unmatched digital footprint, together with Chains remarkable, proven impact, will strengthen, scale and deepen our connection to food fans everywhere.
