ESPN Launches in Europe and Asia-Pacific on Disney+-April 2024

With an eye on improving how it servessports fans, Disney on Tuesday unveiled thelaunchofESPN on Disney+inEurope andselectAsia-Pacific (APAC) marketsimmediately, making theserviceavailable to subscribers in 53 countries and territoriesacross the regions.The Asian territories that are getting the new offering includeJapan, Korea and Hong Kong.

With this expansion, ESPN now reaches fans through Disney+inapproximately100markets around the world, the company highlighted.While theinitialESPN sports offering will vary by market and grow to thousands of live events over the nextyear, it will include NBA and NHL (starting 2026-27 season), NCAA events, College Football Playoffs, as well asESPNs30 for 30library, Disney+ and ESPN said. In Europe, the movebuilds uponDisney+s growing portfolio ofsportscontent, while inselectAsia-Pacificmarkets, a curated selectionof Englishlanguage ESPN sports programmingwill become available on Disney+ in theinitialphase.

Amongselect studio shows coming to Disney+ under Tuesdays expansion move areESPN FC, ESPNs global soccernewsand information program.

This builds onour sports offeringon Disney+ already available in Europe, including the UEFA Womens Champions League, LALIGA in the U.K. and Ireland,andtheCopa del Rey, UEFA Europa League, UEFA ConferenceLeagueandDFB Pokal in the Nordics, Disney+ said.The offering will also featureKeSPAsflagship events, including Esports Championships Asia Jinju 2026, and the 2026LoLKeSPACupin APAC markets.

In addition to its Disney+ presence, ESPNhas50 linearnetworksreaching fansacross 130 countries and territories.
