Arby's enters into holy matrimony with Buffalo Wild Wings, now christened BDarb's-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 7:47 AM

Here comes the bride, all dressed in ranch! Confirming weeks of rumors in the chain restaurant industry, “I’m so hungry I could eat at” Arby’s is set to acquire Buffalo Wild Wings for $2.4 billion.

Some context: Casual chain family restaurants are absolutely getting battered right now. Millennials are opting for less-corporate establishments (see Applebee’s closing 135 underperforming locations). What’s doubly worse for Buffalo Wild Wings is the cost of chicken wings has risen precipitously in the last few years, and just this year the restaurant’s quarterly profits plummeted 63 percent.

Arby’s on the other hand—they’re doing pretty good! They’re experimenting with pork belly and venison sandwiches, and customers are responding in kind. But like two people figuring they could save on rent by rooming together (Popeye’s and Burger King did this in February), Arby’s and BDubs’ are shacking up—and for Buffalo Wild Wings, if not out of love, then certainly of necessity.
