Animation show creator, writer and director Ryan Crego has signed with UTA for representation in all areas.
Crego co-wrote and directedGabbys Dollhouse: The Moviefor DreamWorks Animation ahead of a Sept. 2025 theatrical release. The live action and animated feature will adapt the popular Netflix Gabbys Dollhouse kids series, withLaila Lockhart Kranerreprising her role as Gabby on the big screen.
Gabbys Dollhouse: The Moviewill follow Gabby on a road trip with her Grandma Gigi, played by Gloria Estefan, to the urban wonderland of Cat Francisco. But when Gabbys dollhouse, her most prized possession, ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady named Vera and played by Kristen Wiig, Gabby sets off on an adventure through the real world to save the dollhouse before its too late. The film was penned by Crego with Melanie Wilson LaBracio and Adam Wilson. Crego began his career as a storyboard artist at DreamWorks Animation, working on major studio titles likePuss in Boots,Kung Fu Panda 2,Shrek Forever After andMr. Peabody Sherman.
He later joined DreamWorks television division, where he served as executive producer and showrunner ofHome: Adventures with Tip Ohfor DreamWorks and Netflix.
Crego went on to direct, executive produce, and co-write the screenplay and original music for the Netflix animated musical featureArlo the Alligator Boy. That was followed by Crego creating and executive producing the follow-up seriesI Heart Arlo, for which he also wrote original music.
Crego earned an Emmy directing nomination for his work onArlo the Alligator Boy. Hewill continue to be represented by his attorney Melanie Tomanov at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein Selz.
