Copa is a 1-year-old male dog available for adoption through Chicago's city-run animal shelter (Chicago Animal Care and Control)

Swiping right could help you find a new furry best friend, if not a date for the weekend.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is partnering with dating and networking app Bumble to show users profiles of adoptable dogs. Through Saturday, users will see dog profiles interspersed with their other (human) connections. Users who swipe right will receive more information about the dog and CACC's adoption process.

The promotion is part of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ national #FindYourFido initiative, a campaign that uses social media to promote adoptions of shelter dogs.

CACC joins animals shelters in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Austin that are also taking part in the campaign.

Bumble is not charging CACC ad rates for showing profiles of adoptable dogs.

“This is a fun and innovative way to encourage Chicagoans to help promote our wonderful, loving animals and find their perfect match for a forever Fido at the same time,” said Kelley Gandurski, CACC’s executive director, in a statement.

According to ASPCA, about 3.3 million dogs enter animal shelters in the U.S. each year and wait to be adopted. In Chicago, more than 7,000 dogs enter the city’s animal shelter each year, according to CACC.

As part of its “Petoberfest” campaign, CACC is waiving adoption fees through Sunday at its shelter.
