A 16-year-old boy was among three people killed by gunfire over the weekend in Chicago.
According to Chicago Police Department data, 14 people were shot in 12 separate shooting incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Among those victims were a 16-year-old boy and 36-year-old woman who were each shot as they left a party Saturday in the 3400 block of West 79th Street. Police said they were in an alley at around 10:30 p.m. when someone opened fire, striking the teen in the head and the woman in the leg. The boy was pronounced dead, while the woman was hospitalized in good condition.
A 46-year-old woman was killed in a drive-by shooting at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. She was standing outside her vehicle in the 7000 block of South Rhodes Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. when a sedan pulled up and someone inside fired shots. The victim was struck multiple times and died at a local hospital.
A 22-year-old man died early Sunday after he was shot multiple times in the 2700 block of West 18th Street. Police said he was found between two vehicles with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. He was pronounced dead on scene.
