Fab Factory Entertainment has taken a minority stake in In The Black Network, the advertising video-on-demand platform launched in Oct. 2023 by James DuBose to highlight original stories by Black voices.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the major investment in ITBN, according to Fab Factory, coincides with the company announcing it will move into a new building in east Hollywood earlier used by Netflix as its post-production headquarters.
The Black Network offers a range of content from studios and distributors, including from the vault of Fox Television Stations with titles like Brutally Honest withJasmine Brand, CheMinistry, The Score and Worth a Conversation with Jeezy. ITBN also produces its own originals that spotlights Black culture and voices. James and his team at In The Black have created a culturally important content network for an audience thirsty for programming that honors and elevates Black culture, Rebecca OHara, Co-CEO of Fab Factory Entertainment along with Steve Fabos, said in a statement on Wednesday as ITBN joins her company as a content partner.
As part of the investment deal, ITBN will move into Fab Factorys new building in Hollywood, a three-story, 66,000 square foot post-production, office and event facility that formerly was Netflixs postproduction headquarters.
From the beginning, Steve Fabos and Rebecca OHara have understood and supported my vision for In The Black Network. While their investment will help realize the potential of our platform, what is equally if not more valuable is their genuine partnership, DuBose added in his own statement.
Fab Factory was launched in 2016 by Steven Fabos and his son, Shaun Fabos, and includes Fab Factory Studios, with production facilities and recording studios. A second division, Fab Factory Entertainment, has a TV development and production arm creating content for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.
