Candidate Forum: Three Republican Candidates for Governor
Candidate Forum: Three Republican Candidates for Governor-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 10:46 PM

Tens of millions have been spent and hardly a moment goes by without a campaign commercial on local commercial television.

Six candidates are vying for the Republican nomination for governor, to take on incumbent Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

The campaign has been marked by a handful of billionaire supporters who have competing interests and are battling not only for the direction of the state, but of the Republican party itself.

Paul Schimpf, Gary Rabine and Max Solomon are some of the candidates are vying for the seat.

Candidates Jesse Sullivan and Darren Bailey declined our invitation.

Candidate Richard Irvin’s campaign did not return numerous messages inviting him to join us this evening.
