4 Killed, 18 Others Wounded Over Weekend in Chicago: Police-March 2024

Four people were killed and 18 others wounded in shootings across Chicago between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Data published Monday morning by the CPD shows there were 21 separate shooting incidents throughout the city during that time, and 22 total people were struck.

Just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a 29-year-old man was walking out of a gas station in the 10000 block of South Michigan Avenue when he was approached by an unknown man who began firing shots. The victim was shot in the head and back, and was pronounced dead on scene.

At around 8:43 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South Springfield Avenue, an unidentified man was shot multiple times. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 41-year-old man suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his armpit inside a residence in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue. He was found at around 1:45 p.m Sunday after police were called to check in on the home.

Minutes later at 2 p.m., a 31-year-old male was discovered unresponsive on the ground in the 4500 block of West Wilcox Street with gunshot wounds to the right side of his neck and shoulder.
