Whats happened? While millions of entertainment and sports lovers were preparing for big weekends ahead, Disneys beloved channels have vanished from YouTube TV.

Disney has removed its channels, including ESPN, ABC, National Geographic, and Disney Channel, from Googles streaming platform following the expiration of its carriage agreement and the failure of both companies to renew terms. The development took place at midnight on October 30, 2025. YouTube TV, on an official support page, says, We will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disneys own live TV products. Meanwhile, in a statement to CNN, Disney says, Googles YouTube TV has chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels. Members, when we renew our contracts with network partners, we advocate for fair pricing to offer you the best TV experience. Our contract with Disney has reached its renewal date, and well not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disneys TV products.

Most recently, the platform has faced several last-minute carriage disputes with major companies, including Paramount, Fox, NBCUniversal, and TelevisaUnivision. Like the ongoing conflict, these disputes involved negotiations over carriage fees and the temporary removal of content, some of which were resolved just in time to avoid content blackouts. Disney offered YouTube TV a revised agreement that included complimentary access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, but it required leaving YouTube TV, an arrangement Google found unacceptable (via YouTubes blog post).

Why should I care? Given that Disney has an extensive lineup of popular sports, entertainment, and news channels, and YouTube TV has millions of subscribers, both companies are likely to reach an agreement soon.

Until then, you wont be able to access Disneys key programming on Googles streaming platform, nor will you have access to their recordings in your library (theyll be restored if an agreement is reached). For now, your only alternatives are to subscribe directly to ESPN+ or switch to Hulu + Live TV. If Disney content remains unavailable on YouTube TV for an extended period (duration to be determined), the platform has announced it will offer subscribers a $20 credit.
