Among the pantheon of issues one could get upset about, a cartoon cow butt should rank fairly low. But no, in the pearl-clutching suburban hamlet of Montclair, New Jersey, a new ice cream shop’s artwork has gone too far.

　　Dairy Air Ice Cream Co. has churned up “controversy” with its derrière-inspired artwork depicting a cartoon female bovine with a heart on its behind, reports Montclair Local. Another Montclair business owner who operates a shop called The Creative Caravan posted an open letter on Facebook. A portion reads:

　　“It is offensive and sickening. A hyper-sexualized, obviously female cow with her ass upended and poking through a circle, tail raised up, waiting for what? I’m not sure, but I do know that I am repulsed and offended.”

　　According to Montclair Local, other residents chimed in to agree with her screed. Later in the post, Montclair’s resident Helen Lovejoy really drops the bomb:

　　“This kind of marketing scheme is the reason we currently have a sexual predator in the White House.”

　　Ooooookay. There exists a tornado of shitty reasons that an admitted pussy grabber currently occupies the United States Presidency, but surely a caricature of a cow’s behind is not one of them. A locally owned, independent ice cream shop is just about the most wholesome business a person could open, and Dairy Air doesn’t deserve our misplaced anger. If you want to put your outrage toward good use, there are a few more productive ways to do so.
