The first film adaptation in an anticipated franchise is in the works as mother-daughter duo P.C. and Kristin Casts House of Night is set to come to the big screen.

The wildly popular young adult fantasy romance is a New York Times bestseller. With the entire series selling over 31 million copies across 40 countries, Highland Film Group is presenting the movie adaptations at the European Film Market this week.

Directed by Rain Li (Beijing, New York), casting for the film is currently underway. Victor Hadida (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, The Crow) and Molly Hassell (The Return to Silent Hill, Terminal, The Crow) are producing. House of Night follows Zoey, whose life is forever changed when a genetic mutation marks her as a fledgling vampyre, forcing her to leave everything behind and get to a boarding school where the Marked learn to endure their transformation. As she navigates the highs and lows of teenage love, shifting friendships, and newfound independence, Zoey discovers she possesses extraordinary gifts that set her apart making her both revered and feared in a vampyre world already steeped in magic.
