’Wicked’ Broadcast Debut Set at NBC Just Ahead of ‘For Good’ Release-March 2024
Mar 10, 2026 10:45 AM

If you care to find Wicked before its follow-up Wicked: For Good hits theaters, look to your local NBC station.

The network has set the broadcast premiere of Wicked for Nov. 19, two days ahead of For Goods debut on movie screens. The presentation will run 3 1/2 hours with commercials, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The NBC airing of Wicked is part of a big promotional push leading up to For Good, which comes from corporate sibling Universal Pictures. The network is also airing a two-hour musical special, titled Wicked: One Wonderful Night, on Nov. 6 that will feature performances from castmembers Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode, along with interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses. (Outside the NBCUniversal family, the movie also got some free publicity from ABCs Dancing With the Stars, which had a Wicked-themed night on Tuesday.) Not part of the For Good blitz, notably, is Peacock. NBCUs streaming service had an exclusive window for Wicked earlier in the year, but the movie isnt currently available there. It now streams on Prime Video.

Wicked, released Nov. 22, 2024, made more than $750 million worldwide during its theatrical run and earned 10 Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best actress (Erivo) and best supporting actress (Grande). It won the Oscars for costume design and production design.

Wicked: For Good, directed by Jon M. Chu, arrives in theaters on Nov. 21.
