  Get back to basics, and take pleasure in baking your own nourishing bread.

  

Ingredients

Serves 12, 18, or 24; 1 slice per serving

  

1-pound machine (12 servings)

2/3 cup fat-free milk

  2 tablespoons water

  2 1/4 teaspoons canola or corn oil

  1 cup all-purpose flour

  1 cup whole-wheat flour

  1 tablespoon gluten flour

  1 tablespoon molasses

  2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  

1 1/2-pound machine (18 servings)

3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons fat-free milk

  3 tablespoons water

  1 tablespoon canola or corn oil

  1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour

  1 1/2 tablespoons gluten flour

  1 1/2 tablespoons molasses

  2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  

2-pound machine (24 servings)

1 1/4 cups plus 1 tablespoon fat-free milk

  1/4 cup water

  1 1/2 tablespoons canola or corn oil

  2 cups all-purpose flour

  2 cups whole-wheat flour

  2 tablespoons gluten flour

  2 tablespoons molasses

  1 tablespoon active dry yeast

  

Step 1

Put the ingredients in the bread machine container in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select the whole-grain or basic/white bread cycle. Proceed as directed by the manufacturer. When the bread is done, let cool on a cooling rack before slicing.
