Nutritional Requirements of King Stropharia Mushroom

The King Stropharia mushroom, scientifically known as Stropharia rugosoannulata, is a popular edible mushroom that is cultivated for its culinary and medicinal uses. In order to successfully grow this mushroom, it is important to understand its nutritional requirements.

Substrate

The King Stropharia mushroom is a saprophytic fungus, meaning it obtains its nutrients from decomposing organic matter. It thrives on a wide range of substrates, including wood chips, straw, sawdust, and agricultural waste such as corn stalks or wheat straw. The substrate should be rich in lignin and cellulose, as these are the primary sources of nutrition for the mushroom.

Moisture

Proper moisture levels are crucial for the growth and development of King Stropharia mushrooms. The substrate should be moist but not waterlogged. Ideally, the moisture content should be around 60-70%. Regular misting or watering may be required to maintain the desired moisture levels.
