Tubi continues to lean into the creator economy, announcing a slate of shows from a number of popular YouTubers and social media stars.
The Fox-owned AVOD service, which announced its Tubi for Creators program in June, has set the first slate of shows from the initiative. The series come from creators Joey Graceffa, Kevin Fredericks (KevOnStage), Rock Squad, Shuang Hu (TheOneShu), Jahdai Pickett (Bigg Jah) and Dan Riya and will be exclusive to the platform.
Were responding to our viewers growing appetite for bold, original storytelling by doubling down on exclusive content from digital-first creators, said Rich Bloom, general manager of creator programs and executive vp business development at Tubi. The investment is paying off. Viewers who start their Tubi journey with creators show stronger retention proof that these stories truly resonate with our audience and provide an engaged, incremental audience for creators. Several of the creators shows are already streaming on Tubi: Safe Space, in which KevOnStage plays an underqualified couples therapist; Bloodsuckers: Origins, a prequel to Rock Squads teen vampire franchise; and Baby Shu Fwends, in which TheOneShu plays a teenage version of herself.
Still to come are the finale of Garceffas ongoing series Escape the Night; KevOnStages Bald Brothers: A Freestyle Comedy Show, also starring Terry Baker; Bigg Jahs comedy anthology L.A.U.G.H. (Life Aint Usually Great Here) and a new season of The Lesbian Homie; and Dan Riyas Till Drama Do Us Part, about a destination wedding gone awry.
The roster of digital creator series follows a recent deal with Kevin Harts Hartbeat for a slate of creator-driven movies and, earlier this year, extensions of partnerships with MrBeast and other creators.
