Lightfoot tells the Chicago Sun-Times that Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told her he had a “couple of drinks” with dinner before he was found slumped over in his vehicle early Thursday. An internal investigation into the city’s top cop is ongoing.

Lightfoot’s zoning ordinance for the sale of recreational marijuana passes City Council despite opposition from members of the Chicago Aldermanic Black Caucus, who say it lacks incentives and opportunities for minority business owners.

And in sports, the Chicago Bears take on the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field after a disappointing loss to the Raiders and a bye week.
