AT&T Illinois will pay a $23 million fine to resolve a criminal investigation into alleged misconduct involving efforts to illegally influence former Illinois Speaker of the House Michael Madigan, according to federal prosecutors.

A $20 billion merger between two of the nation’s largest grocers, Kroger and Albertsons, will bring together competitors Mariano’s and Jewel Osco.

In Washington D.C., the House Jan. 6 committee subpoenaed former president Donald Trump for testimony on the Capitol attack.

And in sports, a disappointing Chicago Bears game resulted in a 12-7 loss against the Washington Commanders.
