Stephen King Adaptation ‘The Dedication’ Tops Veterans-Focused MV Shorts Awards-March 2024
Mar 8, 2026 1:34 AM

The MV Shorts Awards have unveiled its honors, with the show honoring projects from veterans and active duty military members.

The Dedication, directed by Adrienne Lunson, took home the top honor and a $1,000 grant. The short is a Japanese adaptation of the Stephen King short story about a housekeeper whose son writes a bestselling novel under mysterious circumstances.

The National Entertainment Awards Academy for Military Veterans hosted the awards, which were held on Saturday in Culver City. Veterans already have the skills Hollywood needs: logistics, technical precision, and leadership under pressure. Were building the bridge into the industry, said Joe Ramirez, Los Angeles Marine Corps veteran and NEAAMV founder.
