‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Sets 24 Hour Trailer Record with 718 Million Views-May 2024

Brand new day, brand new trailer record. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has easily become the biggest trailer of all time in 24 hours, according to Sony. The studio says the trailer reached 718.6 million views since launching on Wednesday, citing the market research firm WaveMetrix.

It took just eight hours to top Deadpool Wolverines 365 million views from two years ago. (That number also included the 100-plus million who watched the Super Bowl on TV.) For comparisons sake, the first trailer for 2021s Spider-Man: No Way Home reached 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours. It went on to become the highest grossing film in Sony history with $1.9 billion globally. Avengers: Doomsdays recent quartet of trailers topped 1 billion combined views, though that was cumulative over time, not just 24 hours. Tom Holland returns to star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Brand New Day, which Sony has set for July 31.

The new installment hails from director Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel. Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Sadie Sink are among the cast new to the Spidey franchise, with franchise mainstays Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returning.

The script from Spider-Man mainstays Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Holland previously told THR of his return: Its a collaborative process. The first few meetings were about, Why would we do this again? And I think we found the reason why. Im really, really happy with where were at in terms of the creative.
