Ingredients
Serves 21 small butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3 slices bacon
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco, or to taste
Step 1
Steam squash on a streamer rack set over boiling water, covered, until tender, about 5 to 8 minutes.
Step 2
In a skillet cook bacon over moderate heat until crisp, reserving 2 teaspoons bacon fat.
