President Obama signed an executive order on Monday, July 21 banning discrimination against LGBT employees of federal contractors and the federalgovernment. The executive order has two parts: it's now illegal to fire or harass an employee based on his or her sexual orientation or gender identity; and discrimination against transgender employees is banned.
