Paul Feig has inked a first-look film producing deal with Lionsgate, with the studio announcing the news during its presentation at CinemaCon.

Lionsgate chair Adam Fogelson revealed Tuesday at the Las Vegas event that Feig, director of the forthcoming sequel Another Simple Favor, signed the pact through his production company Feigco Entertainment, headed up by Feig and producing partner Laura Fischer.

Their commitment to theatrical is incredibly important to me, and their support and encouragement to make the movies Ive wanted to bring to audiences has been tremendously empowering. My films are better for their involvement, and I couldnt be more thrilled to be in business with them.

Feig directed and produced Another Simple Favor for Lionsgate and Amazon MGM Studios, with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively returning from the 2018 original, A Simple Favor. The movie debuts via Prime Video on May 1 after premiering as the opening title at SXSW.

The filmmaker is currently working on Lionsgates The Housemaid, which stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar in an adaptation of the 2022 best-selling novel from author Freida McFadden. The psychological thriller hits theaters Christmas Day.

Feig has also produced a number of series with Lionsgates Television Group, such as Zoeys Extraordinary Playlist,Minx,Love Life and Welcome to Flatch.

Dan Freedman negotiated the deal for Lionsgate. Feig is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer.

CinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from March 31 to April 3. It is presented by Cinema United (formerly the National Association of Theater Owners).
