‘Outlander’: Starz Drops Emotional Trailer for Final Season-March 2024

The trailer for the highly anticipated eighth and final season of Outlander has dropped, teasing the conclusion of Claire and Jamies iconic love story after more than a decade.

The time-traveling romance drama returnsFriday, March 6,with new episodes streaming weeklyFridays on all Starz platforms.

The final trailer (below) hints at heartwarming and heartbreaking moments for the Fraser family, with several familiar faces returning and reuniting. The series is inspired by Diana Gabaldons international best-selling books. Outlander stars Caitrona Balfe as Claire Fraser and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, along with Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.

Stars Balfe and Heughan spoke with The Hollywood Reporter after season seven about the cliffhanger finale, saying the big spoiler moment was a shock for us as actors reading it and learning about it, as it was for the characters. (Read that chat here.)

Heres the logline for season eight, A devastating prophecy, in the form of Frank Randalls book predicting Jamies death, shakes the family to the core. Knowing theyve been unable to alter history in the past, the Frasers grapple with the question of whether Jamies fate is sealed.As season eight begins, Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Frasers Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although theyve left the war for Americas freedom behind, their fight for Frasers Ridge has only just begun.

The franchise, meanwhile, will live on, as a second season has been renewed for prequel seriesOutlander: Blood of My Blood.
