City officials shut down two large parties in the Austin neighborhood for violating rules designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus, Chicago officials said Wednesday.

More than a half dozen large parties have been shut down by city officials in the past month, even as Chicago remains under a stay-at-home advisory designed to prevent people from contracting COVID-19.

Investigators with the city’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection discovered 153 people at an indoor party at 5427-29 W. North Ave. City officials did not identify the owner of the property.

City investigators also shut down a 57-person party at Classy, two blocks away at 5336 W. North Ave.

In all, city inspectors conducted 103 investigations from Thursday through Sunday and issued citations to four businesses for violating COVID-19 regulations by allowing indoor dining. Those were:

—New Celebrity Lounge, 2020-22 E. 83rd St.

—Mama Delia & Bordel, 1721 W. Division St.

—Alcoiris, 4007 W. Armitage Ave.

—Canton Regio, 1510 W. 18th St.
