With a new Fantastic Four movie coming this summer, Miles Teller who starred in the 2015 iteration of the superhero franchise is weighing in on the latest adaptation.

Teller played Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the film, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell; in the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, that role is played by Pedro Pascal, with the cast rounded out by Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Ive known Pedro for a couple of years, man Im wishing them all the best, Teller told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday at the L.A. premiere of his new film The Gorge. I dont wish anybody to be a part of a bomb, its just a marker on your career that for some people takes longer to get over than others. I just wish them the best. I saw the little trailer and I thought it looked fantastic, Im very excited for them. 2015s Fantastic Four lost 20th Century Fox millions at the box office and a planned sequel was scrapped as a result. With Disney now controlling the property, Marvels First Family, as the team is known, is being revived as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. WandaVisions Matt Shakman is directing, with First Steps set for a July 25 release.

Teller, meanwhile is starring in Apple TV+s The Gorge, appearing alongside Anya Taylor-Joy as two highly-trained operatives who become close after being sent to protect opposite sides of a mysterious gorge.

I love watching her, she really can do anything, Teller said of his interest in the film. He and Taylor-Joy have been friends for years, which he said helped their on-camera romantic spark.

The more comfortable you feel with somebody before the cameras start rolling, that goes a long way with the chemistry, he said, as she added, You dont really know if youre going to have chemistry with somebody until youre there, so I think both of us were like, Phew OK great, this is going to be fun. It just helps that to know that youre going into work every day with somebody that has your back and loves you.

The Gorge, which also stars Sigourney Weaver, starts streaming Friday on Apple TV+.
