Michael Bay Signs with CAA (Exclusive)-March 2024
Mar 7, 2026 10:21 AM

Michael Bay, the mega-director behind the Transformers and Bad Boys action spectacles, has signed with CAA.

The filmmaker hasnt had agency representation since 2022 when he left WME, the agency that had repped him through most of his career, preferring to stay in the hands of management firm Range Media Partners.

And what a career its been. Bay has directed and produced some of the most commercially successful films of all time, with his name becoming a synonymous with over-the-top, explosive action. Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and five Transformers movies alone have grossed over $5 billion dollars worldwide. Among other movies in his oeuvre are the muscular Pain Gain, true-life military story 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, sci-fi movie The Island, and worldwide chase thriller 6 Underground.

He hasnt directed a movie since Ambulance, the 2022 crime thriller that starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Yayha Abdul-Mateen II.

Through his production company Platinum Dunes, Bay has emerged as a proponent of filmmaker-driven movies, specifically in the genre space. Critically acclaimed monster franchise A Quiet Place, social horror franchise The Purge and the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are among the standouts.

Collectively, movies he has directed or produced have grossed $10 billion at the global box office.

Bay remains repped by Range and attorneys Robert Offer and AJ Brandenstein at Sloane Offer.
