Last Call: Getting eaten by piranhas is the worst way to go
Last Call: Getting eaten by piranhas is the worst way to go-September 2024

Groupon envy

I’ll admit it: Post-college, I really wanted to work at Groupon. I was living in Chicago; my journalism degree was worth less than Monopoly money during the recession; and Groupon was the coolest company in the city. I applied, but never got interviewed. In hindsight, it seems like I dodged a bullet, but Gray Chapman’s piece for The Outline took me right back to 2010, when every theater/creative writing major was dying for a job at The House That Andrew Mason Built. [Kate Bernot]

Bill Hader in Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I unequivocally love Bill Hader: His large swath of impressions may make him my all-time favorite Saturday Night Live player. He’s hosting again this Saturday, which should be fun. But I also noticed that the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which I also love, is now on Netflix, and Hader has a small but hilarious role as Jason Segal’s stepbrother. The movie just arrived on the streaming service, so check it out while you are able: A smart, funny romance about a guy getting over that impossible girl. Look for Russell Brand, Jonah Hill, and Paul Rudd as an extremely chill surfing instructor. [Gwen Ihnat]

Piranha feeding frenzy

This has got to be the worst way to go. [Kevin Pang]
