Its time to report for Jury Duty season two.
The second season of the breakout hit, officially titled Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, is set to debut its first three episodes on March 20. The next two episodes will premiere on March 27; the final three launch on April 3.
The coming Jury Duty season will have nothing to do with jury duty. Instead, Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat is set at a corporate offsite event for a family-owned hot sauce company. They recently hired Anthony as a temp boy, is he ever in for it. Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreatis a documentary-style comedy that captures a corporate offsite event at a family-owned hot sauce company from the perspective of Anthony, a recently hired temporary worker. Unbeknownst to Anthony, the entire experience is staged, every colleague around him is performing a role, and each moment whether in conference rooms or during downtime has been meticulously orchestrated. As the founder prepares to step down, the getaway transforms into a clash between big corporate ambitions and small business values, with control of the company hanging in the balance.
Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat has actually been in the can for quite a while. It was filmed a year or so ago in the Agoura Hills suburb of Los Angeles. Jury Duty (season one) was originally a Freevee show. Freevee, a play on the words free TV, no longer exists the service was originally called IMDb TV.
The first Jury Duty followed the unsuspecting Ronald Gladden, who turned out to be the best sport in the world. James Marsden (playing himself) and a bunch of unknown actors pulled off quite the ruse from a fictional jury box and beyond. Only Gladden was not in on the elaborate prank. Marsden executive produces Company Retreat, but is not a member of its cast.
Jury Duty is executive produced by David Bernad(The White Lotus, Bad Trip), Lee Eisenberg(Lessons In Chemistry, The Office), Gene Stupnitsky (Hello Ladies, The Office), Todd Schulman(The Chair Company,Who Is America?), Nicholas Hatton(Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,Who Is America?),Jake Szymanski (7 Days in Hell, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), Anthony King (The Afterparty, Silicon Valley), Chris Kula (Wrecked, Community), Marsden (Paradise, Sonic The Hedgehog 3) and Ruben Fleischer (Superstore, St. Denis Medical). Eisenberg and Stupnitsky co-created the series; Szymanski directs.
