Jimmy John’s adds a new bread option for the first time in two decades-January 2024
Jan 27, 2026 9:47 PM

Jimmy John’s has its problems, but it cannot be denied that they make good bread. Yesterday, for the first time in more than two decades, the company announced that they’re adding a bread option to their existing roster.

Customers can now choose between french bread, whole wheat bread, and 9-grain wheat bread. They also remain free to go the Unwich route, which is pretty much all the sandwich stuff rolled up in a big piece of lettuce.

Thrillist reports that the new bread is a blend of “wheat, rye, flaxseed, quinoa, oats, millet, barley, amaranth, and spelt, along with a hint of honey and molasses.” Those seeking a sandwich will be able to customize their order with the new bread on the block for no additional charge.
