Jason Blum Reveals ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer in Full Costume-May 2024

Blumhouse head Jason Blum got into costume, as he is known to do, to debut the first trailer for Five Nights at Freddys.

At CinemaCon on Wednesday, the producer was dressed head-to-toe in a get-up resembling one worn by the murderous animatronic figures in the franchise that adapts the popular video game series.

The first Five Nights at Freddys was Blumhouses biggest hit, Blum boasted from the stage. He acknowledged that exhibitors werent thrilled that the first movie was released day-and-date on Peacock but assured the crowd that the new film would launch exclusively in theaters. The trailer teases more mysteries involving the pizzeria where Josh Hutchersons character worked. Theyre out there, Mike, Elizabeth Lail says in the footage. After Hutcherson asks what that means, she clarifies, Everywhere.

Piper Rubio and Matthew Lillard so-star in director Emma Tammis sequel to the 2023 original film. Five Nights at Freddys 2 hits theaters Dec. 5.

The first Five Nights at Freddys film centers on a security guard (Hutcherson) at a pizzeria who soon learns that the establishment is home to some evil animatronics. The movies are based on the video game franchise of the same name that debuted in 2014.

The first film, despite the streaming release on Peacock, nabbed Blumhouse all-time best opening weekend with $80 million domestically. Tammi directs the sequel from a script she co-wrote with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback.

Universal announced at last years CinemaCon that a sequel was in the works. Tammi, who also helmed the first film,previously toldThe Hollywood Reporterof a possible follow-up: We have some loose ends that I think are going to have to come back in a sequel to be tied up.

CinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from March 31 to April 3. It is presented by Cinema United (formerly the National Association of Theatre Owners).
