White Star Apple Juice

Definition: White star apple juice is a refreshing and nutritious beverage made from the fruit of the white star apple tree (Chrysophyllum albidum). The white star apple, also known as agbalumo or udara, is a tropical fruit native to West Africa.

Ingredients:

  • White star apples (6-8)
  • Water (2 cups)
  • Sugar (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  • Wash the white star apples thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities.
  • Cut the white star apples into halves and remove the seeds.
  • Place the white star apple halves into a blender or food processor.
  • Add water to the blender or food processor.
  • Blend the white star apples and water until smooth.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pulp or solids.
  • Taste the juice and add sugar if desired, adjusting the sweetness to your preference.
  • Refrigerate the white star apple juice for at least 1 hour to chill before serving.
