Thyme-based Natural Mouthwash

Thyme-based natural mouthwash is a homemade oral hygiene product that harnesses the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of thyme to promote oral health. This natural alternative to commercial mouthwashes is easy to make and provides a refreshing and effective way to maintain oral hygiene.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons of dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of xylitol (optional, for sweetness)
  • 5-10 drops of peppermint essential oil (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

  • Boil the distilled water in a small saucepan.
  • Add the dried thyme leaves to the boiling water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool down.
  • Once cooled, strain the liquid to remove the thyme leaves.
  • Add the baking soda, xylitol (if desired), and peppermint essential oil (if desired) to the strained liquid.
  • Stir the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully dissolved.
  • Transfer the mouthwash into a clean, airtight container for storage.
  • Usage:

    To use the thyme-based natural mouthwash, simply pour a small amount (around 1-2 tablespoons) into your mouth after brushing your teeth. Swish the mouthwash around your mouth for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, ensuring it reaches all areas of your mouth. Spit out the mouthwash and avoid swallowing it. Rinse your mouth with water afterward if desired.
