How to Make Balimbing Jam or Jelly

Step 1: Harvesting and Preparation

Start by harvesting ripe and firm balimbing fruits. Look for fruits that have a bright yellow color and are free from blemishes or bruises. Wash the fruits thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities.

Step 2: Slicing and Seed Removal

Using a sharp knife, slice the balimbing fruits crosswise into thin, even slices. Take care to remove the seeds from each slice, as they can be bitter and affect the taste of the jam or jelly.

Step 3: Cooking the Balimbing

While the balimbing jam or jelly is still hot, carefully pour it into sterilized jars or containers. Seal the jars tightly and let them cool at room temperature. Once cooled, store the balimbing jam or jelly in the refrigerator to prolong its shelf life.
