Hot Ginger Tea with Cinnamon Recipe
Hot Ginger Tea with Cinnamon Recipe-February 2024
Feb 11, 2026 4:37 PM

  Active Time

  10 min

  Total Time

  1 1/2 hr

Pleasantly pungent and sweetened to taste with honey, this tea soothes and refreshes after a big meal. (We also like to brew a pot any time we feel a little under the weather.) Nibbling on the pine nuts as you sip the hot tea helps soften its strong flavors.

Ingredients

Makes about 3 quarts

  3 quarts water

  3/4 cup chopped pealed ginger

  2 to 3 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks

  24 pine nuts

  Mild honey to taste

Simmer water, ginger, and cinnamon sticks in a pot, covered, 1 hour. Strain through a sieve into cups and garnish each serving with 3 pine nuts. Serve with honey.

  Cook's note:

Tea can be made 8 hours ahead and chilled. Reheat before serving.
