Hey Alex Winter, is a hot dog a sandwich?

It’s been a long time since Alex Winter was a vampire. Here, lest we get sued for libel, I should stress that Winter was never actually a vampire and that I was exaggerating for comic effect; and because it is October, the spooooookiest month; and because of Winter’s involvement in the series AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth’s History of Horror, which premieres on October 14. But once upon a time, Alex Winter played a vampire, and he was really good at it.

The film in question, of course, is The Lost Boys.

It’s a terrific movie, and he makes a hell of a vampire. Winter has also made quite a career for himself as a director, and has played other good roles in good movies, but let’s call a spade a spade. You’re here because you want to know what Bill S. Preston, Esq. thinks on the most vexing of questions. No, it is not what number he is currently thinking of (the answer is obvious, dudes). Is is whether or not a hot dog is a sandwich.

The Takeout: Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Alex Winter: I have no idea. No opinion.

  TO: No opinion?

AW: Actually, no. Wait. Yes, it is. It is, because it’s between two pieces of bread. Yeah. Sandwich.
