A record-setting night for The Studio helped give Apple TV+ its best night ever at the Emmys, while HBO and HBO Max rebounded in a big way to tie Netflix for the top spot among all networks and streamers.
Led by The Pitt which had three wins during Sundays telecast, including best drama series and The Penguin, which had a big haul at the Creative Arts Emmys, HBO and HBO Max (which submit as a single entity for the awards) took home 30 awards at the 2025 Emmys. It was a bounce-back year for the Warner Bros. Discovery outlets, which in 2024 had their lowest number of wins (14) since 1998. Netflix also had 30 Emmy wins this year (including five juried awards for individual achievement in animation). Adolescence won eight awards for the streamer, dominating the limited series field alongside The Penguin (which had nine wins for HBO). Adolescence won six of the seven limited series categories on Sunday, with the only exception being Cristin Miliotis win for her role in The Penguin.
Apple TV+ had its best Emmy showing ever with 22 wins, 13 of which were for the Lionsgate TV-produced The Studio. The series broke The Bears single-year record (set in 2024) of 11 wins. The Bear was shut out this year, collecting zero wins from its 13 nominations.
Two other media conglomerates, NBCUniversal (16) and Disney (13), also won double-digit numbers of Emmys this year. Disneys haul fell precipitously from its record-breaking 60 wins in 2024, when Shgun (18 wins) and The Bear (11) by themselves beat out every other companys total.
