Dec 13, 2025 7:03 AM

Glen Powell is heading back to theaters early next year as the lead of a freshly titled A24 feature.

The studio is set to release writer-director John Patton Fords How to Make a Killing in theaters Feb. 20, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Margaret Qualley and Ed Harris also star in the thriller film that previously had been titled Huntington.

How to Make a Killing is inspired by director Robert Hamers 1949 British crime movie Kind Hearts and Coronets. The new film centers on Becket Redfellow (Powell), who has been cast aside by his phenomenally wealthy family and will go to any lengths necessary to ensure his inheritance. Fords script landed on the Black List back in 2014 when it was known as Rothchild. Shia LaBeouf and Mel Gibson had been attached to star in the project for director Jon S. Baird.

Jessica Henwick, Zach Woods, Topher Grace and Bill Camp round out the How to Make a Killing cast.

Also slated for release on Feb. 20 are 20th Century Studios horror title Psycho Killer and Lionsgates I Can Only Imagine 2.

During a recent conversation with THR, Powell emphasized that he was excited for How to Make a Killing to hit theaters soon.

Theres going to be a new title that we will probably be debuting here in the next few weeks, he said of the project losing the Huntington moniker. But the movie is fantastic, and John Patton Ford is a great filmmaker. I cant wait for people to see it.

Powell has become one of Hollywoods most in-demand leading men following the success of Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone but You and Twisters. His forthcoming projects include the new J.J. Abrams movie Ghostwriter, alongside Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey and Samuel L. Jackson. Powell can currently be seen in Paramounts The Running Man, which underperformed at the box office in its opening weekend.
