FX Picks Up ‘Snowflakes’ Comedy from ‘Tonight Show’ Duo, Nick Kroll-February 2024

FX, which is about to say goodbye to one of its comedies, is adding another to its lineup.

The Disney-owned outlet has handed a series order to Snowflakes, an ensemble comedy about a group of codependent housemates trying to be good people, despite being neither good nor people yet, as the shows logline puts it.

The series, for which FX ordered a pilot in January, comes from FX Productions and writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon). Nick Kroll (who has a first-look deal with FX Productions), Baskets co-creator Jonathan Krisel and Atlanta and What We Do in the Shadows alum Stefani Robinson are among the executive producers. Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele play the five twentysomething housemates. We are excited about the exceptional cast and powerhouse comedy team weve assembled forSnowflakes, said FX Entertainment president Nick Grad. Not only does it give us a chance to introduce our audience to Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaws brilliant comedic voice, but we also get the opportunity to work again with Nick, Jonathan and Stefani, all incredibly talented veterans of signature FX comedies.

The series order for Snowflakes comes as FX gets ready to say goodbye to What We Do in the Shadows, whose final season is set to premiere in September. FX also has the forthcoming English Teacher starring Brian Jordan Alvarez, which premieres Sept. 2, and produces The Bear for Hulu. FXXs Dave is in limbo as co-creator and star Dave Lil Dicky Burd is taking a break to focus on music and other ventures.

Kronengold and Shaw will executive produce Snowflakes with Kroll and Alicia Van Couvering via their Good at Business banner, Krisel (who also directed the pilot) and Robinson.
