Mar 10, 2026 12:21 PM

Lily Collins Emily Cooper is feeling the love in Rome in the latest teaser trailer for Emily in Paris fifth season, all 10 episodes of which start streaming on Netflix Dec. 18.

The preview highlights her romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), who Emily met in season four.

Over images of Emily and Marcello getting closer and more intimate, a voiceover says, We start on a beautiful woman. Shes joined by a man. Its clear they know each other. Unable to keep their hands off each other, eventually sharing a kiss. Later, Emily is joined by Ashley Parks Mindy who tells her, Rome looks so good on you.

The rest of the preview features rapid-fire footage of Emily living it up in Rome as well as a glimpse of Minnie Drivers new character Princess Jane. Viewers also see some of Philippine Leroy-Beaulieus Sylvie Grateau, including her arriving at a meeting where Julien (Samuel Arnold) asks, If we are all here, whos in Paris?

Indeed, Emily is now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, as Netflixs synopsis notes.

In Rome she faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city, the synopsis continues. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.

In addition to Collins, Leroy-Beaulieu, Park, Arnold, Driver and Franceschini, Emily in Paris season five stars Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve), Paul Forman (Nico), Arnaud Binard (Laurent G), Bryan Greenberg (Jake) andMichle Laroque (Yvette).

After venturing to Rome in season four, season five sees Emily spending more time in Italy, even journeying to Venice, as was previously teased in first-look photos.

It was so great to go from Paris to Rome because youre still in Europe and youre still feeling that romance and passion of Europe, but youre getting to experience a different part of history which was really fun, Collins toldThe Hollywood Reporterat the shows season four premiere in L.A. last year.

Emily in Paris time in Italy, however, led to a back-and-forth between French president Emmanuel Macron and Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri. While Macron said he would fight hard to keep the Netflix hit from moving to Italy, Gualtieri told THRs former Italian publication, THR Roma, Doesnt President Macron have more pressing matters to worry about? I would like to believe, at least I would like to hope, that Macron was joking, because he ought to know that a production company like Netflix does not take orders from heads of state or make decisions based on political pressure.

Bravo had previously indicated, with his contract being up at the end of season four, that he wasnt sure if he wanted to return for season five given his issues with his characters storyline. Hes returning for season five but previously told THR that he was hoping for some growth going forward.

He made a few choices that made me kind of grow away from him, Bravo said. We were very much alike in season one, but now, I dont really know. I think I feel like he needs to get his shit together.

Meanwhile, Gabriels ex Camille (Camille Razat) announced on social media earlier this year that she would not be returning to Emily in Paris.
