Ellen Pompeo is looking back on when she got cool points with her kids by starring in a Taylor Swift music video and the generous gift the singer gave.

While appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, the Good American Family star quipped that she got so much mileage with both of her kids when she joined the star-studded cast of Swifts music video for her song Bad Blood.

Taylor is such a good girl. I didnt know her and she invited me to be in the video and I thought Oh that will be fun. And I went and did the video. Honestly, it was the easiest thing. It was like an hour or two, she told Hudson. The Bad Blood music video also featured cameos by Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Mariska Hargitay and more.

Swift has long been candid about her love for Greys Anatomy, even famously naming one of her cats after Pompeos Greys Anatomy character Meredith Grey.

I loveGreys Anatomybecause I think its the best example of dry, sarcastic humor Ive ever seen mixed with drama, because in life theres humor and theres drama, Swift said in an older interview that has circulated on social media. She also said that having her song featured on the ABC medical drama series was basically the best thing ever.

While starring in the video, Pompeo shared that she had one request for the singer.

At the time, [husband Chris Ivery] and I, we do a lot of volunteering for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles here, Pompeo said. They have an amazing program at Childrens where they make music for the babies in the NICU. For the parents who have to go to work all day and they cant be with the kids, they record their voices singing nursery rhymes or telling them stories and they play it for the babies in the day when the parents cant be there. The babies respond to it and it makes their outcomes more positive.

Its a really nice program , but they need money to run it, she added. So I asked Taylor, Could you write me a big old check for Childrens? and she knew me all but 20 minutes and that girl wrote me the biggest check without blinking an eye.

Pompeo currently stars in Hulus Good American Family alongside Mark Duplass, Imogen Faith Reid, Dul Hill, Sarayu Blue, Christina Hendricks and Kim Shaw. The limited drama series is based on the adoption of Natalia Grace.
