Chick-fil-A tests expansion of spicy-chicken sandwich dominion
Chick-fil-A tests expansion of spicy-chicken sandwich dominion-March 2024
Mar 31, 2026 8:39 AM

Chick-fil-A is currently America’s favorite fast-food restaurant in terms of popularity and is gaining on leaders Starbucks and McDonald’s in terms of sales. So the chain has apparently decided that now is a good time to experiment with a few new items in test markets.

Starting this week, three new items are available to Chick-fil-A customers in Arizona, specifically the Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma areas. These include the Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich on the regular menu, the Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit on the breakfast menu, and the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Bundle on the catering menu.

The breakfast item seems similar to CFA’s popular chicken sandwich on a buttermilk biscuit, although the chicken in this new biscuit sandwich is seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers. The grilled sandwiches offer a non-fried take on Chick-fil-A’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich, with “grilled chicken marinated in a spicy seasoning,” served on a multigrain brioche bun with a side of new Cilantro Lime Sauce, which actually sounds pretty great.

QSR reports that this rollout is just the latest in recent Chick-fil-A experimentations. Last year saw CFA testing in Philadelphia, Texas, and Phoenix, where the new Spicy Chick-n-Strips are still available. The Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich was previously trotted out in Orlando, Florida; St. Louis; and Knoxville; Tennessee.

Also starting this week, lucky customers in the Bay Area, South Florida, and Richmond, Virginia-area are test markets for a new chocolate fudge brownie, sprinkled with chocolate chunks. Chick-fil-A’s inevitable world domination seems to be proceeding right on schedule.
