Chicago police are warning North and Northwest Side residents after nearly two dozen armed robberies were reported in just a matter of days.

According to a police bulletin, 23 armed robberies occurred between July 8 and July 11 across several community areas, sometimes just minutes apart.

Police said that in each incident, a group of two to five males driving in a black or white SUV exited the vehicle and approached victims on the street before displaying multiple firearms and robbing the victims of their personal belongings.

In several of the incidents, the victims were battered by one of the offenders, police said. The alleged robbers are described as 18-25 years old and have been seen wearing dark-colored clothing and black ski masks.
